FAQs

Yvonne Kafor Life Coaching, LLC

  • Will you be representing me as an attorney?

No. I do not represent you as an attorney and cannot provide you with legal advice.

  • Will you mediate?

We can only mediate if both parties are self-represented and agree to the mediation discovery session. Each party will be responsible for 50% of the cost of our services.

  • Will you act as my therapist?

We are not licensed therapists and cannot act as your therapist.

  • What should I expect during the mediation session?

After the mediation discovery session, your coach will determine the focus of the mediation session. Both parties must come to mediate in good faith. Both parties must understand that the process is confidential, and nothing said during mediation can be used in a trial if you are unable to settle. The mediation settlement agreement is binding on all parties.

  • Do we have a court order after mediation?

No, one of the parties must file the required case and have the terms of the mediated settlement agreement drafted into an order that will be presented to the judge

  • What if I do not know how to file the case or draft the order?

Your coach can provide you with resources to help you file and complete an uncontested case.

  • What should I expect in the discovery session?

The discovery session is a consultation session. For pre-litigation coaching services, the solutions that are relevant to your case will depend on whether you are represented by counsel or self-represented. Your coach spends the first 15-30 minutes discussing the facts of your case. Based on the information gathered within the first 30 minutes, your coach will address at least three solutions relevant to your case. Your coach will then recommend a package if necessary.

  • Do you have an in-person coaching service?

All of our coaching sessions are conducted virtually via zoom and phone. We respond to simple coaching inquiries via text but highly discourage texting. Sessions are scheduled in advance.
